Kids With Heart Runner-up Roy Eby Roy Eby, age 15, Sierra Madre Upper Campus- nominated by teachers Melanie Marquardt, Lisa Bradbook and Yadira Rodriguez. Roy has overcome a lot of challenges in his life. He races each year in the 5K of the L.A. Marathon in his wheelchair and raises hundreds of dollars for his after-school program that serves the needs of people with disabilities. Ms. Marquardt, one of the teachers that nominated him stated, “Roy makes the world a better place and I know that I am a better person for knowing him.”
